|Event Summary||Led by Wusthof Cutlery, this knife skills class will cover the basics in selecting knives, knife care and sharpening, and fundamental cutting techniques. Students will leave the class not only with increased knife knowledge, but with their own new Wüsthof Classic 7” Santoku Knife!|
Knife Skills with Wüsthof Cutlery
An essential class for anyone looking to get faster, better and smarter in the kitchen. Katy DiRienzo from Wüsthof will cover the basics including why you should choose Wüsthof, blade shapes, design and essential knives for every kitchen. Then, it’s time to get slicing, dicing, mincing and chopping. Katy will explain the importance of the pinch grip and lead the class through the low-rock technique and many more. Katy will then cover honing, sharpening and proper care and maintenance of the blades. A question and answer period will follow. Students will leave the class not only with increased knife skills, but also with all of the results of their efforts in the class along with a recipe for minestrone to use them in, courtesy of Wüsthof’s Executive Chef Mike.
