With a combination of technology and craftsmanship, we love what Staub enameled cast iron brings to the cooktop and the table. Francis Staub began designing cookware in 1974 and created enameled cast iron cookware that excels at enhancing meals. Still made in France, the black matte interior is infused with quartz for better browning and searing and the self- basting lid is perfect for braising slow-cooked one pot meals. Thanks to the superior heat retention of cast iron, the Staub interior has a durable non-stick surface that efficiently sears and gently browns, a great start to any braising recipe. The spikes on the interior of the lid aid in basting; as condensation forms on the interior of the cover and drops down, yielding intense flavor. Staub is an essential line of cookware for braising, roasting, and baking and is as artisanal as it is committed to attention to culinary detail. The ceramic finish on Staub is rich and looks lovely on the stove or on the table.

This versatile 7 Qt. round enamel coated cast iron cocotte is a must-have for everyone who loves to cook. The generous 7 Qt. size can make chili for the whole crowd on a Sunday football afternoon, and this oven is easy to clean so it can quickly turn around and step up to the plate to roast a chicken for dinner. The self-basting spikes on the lid ensure tender-as-can-be pot roast or succulent, fall-off-the-bone short ribs. We can’t say enough good things about this oven; it is ideal for stews, soups, casseroles, roasts, and braises, and has a heavy, tight-fitting lid that keeps all the goodness inside for the most flavorful dishes you can imagine. It heats evenly and retains that heat, and goes beautifully from stovetop to oven to table.
