Spaetzle are traditional little German dumplings that can be used in either savory or sweet dishes. The dough is easy to make and our favorite spaetzle maker is easy to use. Made of heavy duty stainless steel with a soft non-slip handle, simply place the spaetzle maker over a pot of gently boiling water or broth, load the slider basket with the dough and as you slide the dough over the holes, the dumplings fall into the waiting bath to cook. We love our spaetzle the traditional way, fried up in a saucepan with butter and sprinkled with a bit of parsley. If you really want to make an impression on Aunt Gertrude and Uncle Franz, substitute in a bit of bacon and its dripping for some of the butter and the result is Wünderbar!
